We started like every other seller. I manufacture wood-finishing products — cutting board gels, waxes, and oils — under the Rowdy Rooster Woodworks brand, and Amazon is one of the channels I sell them on, alongside Walmart, retail stores, and our own site. Eventually I got tired of the options: $300 a month for a bloated suite where I used three features, a percentage of my ad spend for another tool, and agency quotes that would have put me in the red — all just to handle bid adjustments, review requests, and building campaigns from a few rule presets.
On top of the cost, I couldn't answer the one question that mattered: after COGS, FBA fees, referral fees, returns, and ad spend, am I making money on this product? So I built my own — and took on the arduous work that comes with it. What surprised me most when I finally saw my own account clearly was how simple the fixes were. The waste wasn't complicated. It was just invisible. I still run my own account on it every day.

The founder
RedHen Labs was built by a manufacturer and active Amazon seller who got tired of paying agencies to guess and tools that charged a percentage of his own ad spend. He still runs his own ads on it every day, working with a small AI-assisted staff behind the scenes rather than a software company guessing what sellers need.
