RedHen Labs vs Ad Badger

Flat by ad-spend band, from $275 a month. Here's how they compare for Amazon PPC management.

Ad Badger is Amazon PPC software that sets bids, harvests keywords and negates wasted search terms every night: "I hunt the wasted spend in your Amazon ads. Every keyword, every day." It charges no percentage of ad spend; instead its plans step up with your spend. Starter is $275 a month for up to $5,000 of monthly ad spend, Basic $440 up to $25,000, Professional $660 up to $75,000 and Platinum $920 up to $250,000, with every feature on every plan and a 30-day free trial. RedHen Labs is $129 a month at any spend.

RedHen Labs is a focused Amazon advertising management platform with built-in profitability tracking. At a flat $19 to $129 a month β€” never a percentage of ad spend β€” it gives mid-tier sellers the automation and visibility that used to require enterprise tools or agencies.

No percentage, but the price climbs with your spend

Ad Badger is clear that it doesn't take a cut: "Ad Badger does not charge a percentage of ad spend." Its plans are bands instead. At $5,000 a month in ad spend it is $275; at $10,000 or $25,000, $440; at $50,000, $660. Go more than 10% over your band and it bills "(Correct Plan Price βˆ’ Current Plan Price) Γ— 1.1" for that month. RedHen Labs is $129 at all of those numbers, and nothing moves when your spend does.

Every night on its own, or one change at a time

Ad Badger's Bids by Badger "will make changes to your campaign every 24 hours at midnight," and its nightly hunts add keywords and negatives the same way; only its Claude and ChatGPT connector asks before each change. In RedHen Labs, every bid, harvest and negative waits for your approval by default, with one-click undo, until you choose to let a specific automation run.

When Ad Badger is the better pick

If you want people as well as software (two one-on-one onboarding calls, a weekly mastermind, paid coaching, or a managed service at $975 a month plus 8% of ad spend), Ad Badger offers them. It also works in more marketplaces, supports Vendor and KDP accounts, and looks back up to 999 days of search terms.

What each includes. Ad Badger: Every plan has every feature: nightly automated bidding, keyword and negative hunts, custom IF-THEN bid rules, dayparting, a profits dashboard, rank tracking, onboarding calls and an AI connector for Claude and ChatGPT. Plans differ only by ad-spend band and, on Starter, a limit of 3 ad accounts. RedHen Labs Professional: everything in Growth, plus the rule engine β€” bid rules, keyword harvesting and negative keyword automation, budget and placement automations, dayparting β€” and the plain-English AI assistant.

How it’s calculated. Ad Badger bills a flat fee by monthly ad-spend band, here on monthly billing: Starter $275 up to $5,000, Basic $440 up to $25,000, Professional $660 up to $75,000, Platinum $920 up to $250,000. Each band has "10% grace"; past it, that month's overage is "(Correct Plan Price βˆ’ Current Plan Price) Γ— 1.1". Paying every 6 or 12 months costs less: Starter is $212.50 a month billed yearly. Ad spend means the spend the tool manages. Source: adbadger.com, checked October 31, 2026. RedHen’s figure is the Professional plan’s monthly price, the same at any ad spend ($110.08 a month billed yearly). AI assistant: $20 of usage included each month, and it stops at $50 unless you raise the limit.

How RedHen is different

Ad Badger's AI connector asks first: it can change bids and budgets "asking you before every change", while Bids by Badger and its nightly hunts run on their own. RedHen Labs uses the asking-first default for all of it: rules, harvests, negatives and AI bid changes wait for you unless you switch them on.

  • Rules first, AI as the advisor. Rules settle the clear-cut calls, and the AI suggests changes inside hard limits. Auto-apply is off by default; switched on, the AI can only nudge bids.
  • It waits when the data is thin. RedHen won’t cut a bid on too little data. It looks again next cycle instead of guessing.
  • The same flat fee at any spend. $19, $69 or $129 a month, whatever you spend on ads.
  • You approve, and one click undoes it. Changes wait for your approval unless you choose otherwise, and each one is logged with a one-click undo.

Why we don’t charge more

We could charge more. We don’t, and it isn’t because this is a lighter product β€” it’s because it’s a focused one. We built the things an Amazon seller actually touches every week and left out the twenty modules that pad a suite. A focused product costs less to build and less to run, so it can cost less to buy.

The other reason is simpler. By the time a seller has paid referral fees, fulfillment, storage, returns, and advertising, a lot of hands have already been in the till β€” and then an agency wants a percentage of sales and a tool wants a percentage of spend. The person who designed the product, paid for the inventory, and carries every bit of the risk ends up with the thinnest slice of it. We decided not to be one more toll on that road. $129 is a number we can hold at any account size, which means growing your business never costs you more to keep using ours.

Questions sellers ask about Ad Badger

How much does Ad Badger cost?

Starter is $275 a month for up to $5,000 of monthly ad spend, Basic $440 up to $25,000, Professional $660 up to $75,000 and Platinum $920 up to $250,000; Ruby and Emerald cover more. Paying every 6 or 12 months costs less, and every plan has every feature and a 30-day free trial. (As published on adbadger.com, checked October 31, 2026.)

Does Ad Badger charge a percentage of ad spend?

No, and its help center says so plainly. But its plans are set by your monthly ad spend, so a bigger budget moves you up a band, and spending more than 10% past your band adds an overage fee that month. RedHen Labs has no bands: $129 a month whatever you spend.

What would Ad Badger cost at my ad spend?

$275 a month at $5,000 of ad spend, $440 at $10,000 or $25,000, and $660 at $50,000, on monthly billing. RedHen Labs Professional is $129 at each, so $146 to $531 a month less.

Will RedHen Labs change my bids overnight like Ad Badger does?

Not unless you ask it to. Connecting only reads your account, and the bid, harvest and negative changes RedHen Labs suggests sit in a queue until you approve them. Each approved change goes into a log with a one-click undo, so a night's work never surprises you in the morning.

Does Ad Badger's AI make changes on its own?

Not its AI: the Claude and ChatGPT connector is "Read-only by default," and with changes allowed it asks "before every change." We'd say the same about ours: in RedHen Labs, AI is one tool among many, and it proposes, you approve. Where we part ways is the rest of the automation: Ad Badger's bids and nightly hunts run by themselves, while ours queue for you by default.

When is Ad Badger the better pick?

If you'd value people as much as software: Ad Badger includes onboarding calls and a weekly mastermind, and sells coaching and a managed service. It also supports Vendor and KDP accounts and more marketplaces than RedHen Labs, which covers the US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
